Burgess Hill Bonfire Society

The Offical home of Bonfire in Burgess Hill

Donations

Burgess Hill Bonfire Night is a completly free event for everyone to come and watch. However to put such an event on takes a very large some of money.

If you start with the making of the torches for use in the procession, there is the felt, torchsticks & wire to purchase. Then here is the fuel to make them burn. There's also our magnificent fire banners. Again there's the board which they are made out of, plus again wire & fuel costs.

Then there is the rent to pay on our premises where all the work to put on our night is carried out.

One of our biggest costs is of course our public liablitiy insurance costs. Which without we would not be able to put our night on or to cover some of our other events.

On the day there is the hire of the Boys Club, which becomes our HQ for the day. Then the hire of the Fairfield Recreation Ground on which we hold our firework display.

Talking of fireworks, we also have them to pay, which would cost in the region £1,200 if not more.

Then there is the cost of paying for First Aid cover on the night and of any extra marshalls from outside of the society ranks.

As you can imagine all these things add up to a fair sum of money. Naturally the Society goes out and performs various fund raising events, of which details can be found in the 'Diary Dates' section of this website. However if you feel that you are able to make any kind of donation, no matter how large or small to help us put on this fantastic event, you can always forward a cheque made payable to 'Burgess Hill Bonfire Society', with a cover note explaining that it's a donation to the following address;
